Preparation method:
Titanium carbide powder is generally prepared by reacting TiO2 and carbon black in a carbon tube furnace with hydrogen or a frequency modulated Vacuum furnace at 1600 ℃ - 1800 ℃. The conventional ceramic molding method can be used for molding, and the hot pressing method can also be used for firing. The advantages of this method are energy saving, simple process, and high product purity.

Application scope:
① Cutting metal tools: The new titanium carbide based cermet is a tool material that has developed rapidly in recent years, with high comprehensive performance and much higher wear resistance than ordinary hard alloys under the same cutting conditions. The wear resistance of YT14 and YT15 hard alloys is also 5-8 times higher during high-speed cutting. At present, titanium carbide based cermets have been made into various blades for precision boring of holes and precision machining fields such as "replacing grinding with turning".
② Aviation and space industry: TiC/Cu cermet prepared by high-temperature sintering skeleton infiltration process has good ablation resistance, and has the potential to be used as a material for rocket throat lining and guard plate.
③ Other: Metal based inner lining ceramics synthesized by SHS centrifugal casting can be used as corrosion-resistant pipelines for the transportation of petroleum or chemical products, semi-finished products, as well as wear-resistant pipelines for mines, mineral processing plants, slurry transportation pipelines, and water pipelines for muddy and sandy water.
